A Pierogi Feast Just Over the Bridge

Sometimes the best weekend adventures don’t require a passport... just a good appetite, an eating partner and a short drive.
Tucked in Fall River, Patty’s Pierogis is a cozy comfort-food spot that makes you feel instantly at home. Think warm lighting, vintage diner charm and the smell of butter and onions floating through the air. It’s humble in all the right ways and the food is a truly unbelievable experience.
We opted for the 'Patti's platter' and this was the right move. You get a little taste of everything: crispy-edged pierogi stuffed with combos like chourico and cheese, cabbage and mushroom, mac and bacon, and the classic potato. Plus, it comes with house-made kielbasa and a couple of perfectly plump, saucy golabki (Polish, rice and meat-stuffed cabbage rolls)... truly the ultimate comfort food experience. (We also enjoyed the cabbage soup, which was served piping hot -simple and served with a slice of rye.)
Each bite holds a bit of family tradition and history. Meals like this make me grateful for small-town establishments and folx who take the role of food seriously.
If you find yourself near Fall River... or honestly, even if you don’t, cross the bridge. Trust me.

Pro tip: Go hungry, bring friends and order the platter to share. Start with a cup of soup and order a ring of kielbasa frozen to take home
